Grate Products Authorized Contractors are required to be licensed, insured, and undergo specific training and certification. Training sessions are scheduled throughout the country from time-to-time and are always available at our national headquarters. We will discuss available training locations with you upon receipt of your application.
Grate Products are not difficult to install; however, our quality control standards for our products as well as our authorized installers, are stringent to insure an appropriate match between quality products and quality contractors.

Grate Products Authorized Contractor Requirements

- Contractor must have proper licensing and insurance as required per state.
- Contractor must attend a Grate Products Training Session, usually 2-3 days in length. These training sessions are maintained in small groups, often one-on-one.
- Contractors must undergo continuing education classes to stay abreast of latest developments in basement waterproofing technology and the application of our products. Continuing education, instruction and testing, are available online.
- Training is based on understanding basic principles of basement waterproofing and the most effective methods and applications of Grate Products to best resolve existing and potential problems.
- Since many foundation issues may contribute to a wet basement, specific training on recognition of foundation failures and problems will also be included within the training sessions.
- For warranty purposes, all authorized Grate Products authorized contractors must complete training prior to installation to insure the best services for our customers.
- Sales forces will also require online training through promotional literature, online videos, etc. It is not productive to have a trained contractor without a knowlegeabe sales force.
